Hello lovely person!

We’re Sound Advice and once a month we run Acoustic Sundays, a fluffy community music all-dayer that is, if anything, *too* friendly, welcoming and talented. A chilled day of super-excellent hot and cold running music, our mission is to bring you, the charming and delightful public wonderful sounds you might not previously have heard without having to pay through the nose and remortgage your kidneys for the privilege. If you have socks then they you should prepare to have them blown off (gently). Come say hello!

September 2015

For September’s event, we teamed up with Sunday Circus to bring you a very special ‘Acoustic Sunday Circus’.

The weather was kind to us and we were able to hold the last of summer-time events outside on the ‘terrace'. The day started a little dramatically with the realisation that despite the weather, we may not be able to hold Acoustic Sunday in the street - someone had parked a car in the middle of our usual space… right where the bands go!

Fortunately, genius cameraman Al had the idea (who’d have thought) to try out the space the other side of the hedge and wahay Acoustic Sunday was rocking again! Lined with trees and with a view of the sunset, the team actually felt the space was an improvement on the normal spot so you can expect to find us there again next summer!

Following a tuneful open mic hour, Joni Sheila (who was visiting us all the way from Belgium) took to the stage to begin our afternoon of mesmerising music accompanied by food and drink from the reasonably priced pop-up bar. Next up was Robert Taira Wilson, followed by Storywheel who were playing us tracks from their debut EP which was only launched a couple of days before. Tori Tori Bird took to the stage as the sun began to set and then Mobius Loop finished the afternoon with an energetic set, encouraging the entire audience to jump up and start dancing (yes we saw you, all of you.. and we even got photographic evidence!). Making the day even more special, we had a short comedy slot from Joss Gurney and compere Alex (aka the Mumbling Horse) added a poetical twist to proceedings!

Many thanks as always to every single musician, to Joss and to Alice and Alex of Sunday Circus for helping us put together such a fab line-up. Thank you also to our beautiful team of volunteers who worked non-stop to ensure the event ran smoothly and you were all fed and watered. Thanks, of course to YOU the amazing audience, without whom these events would not be possible!

See you back inside the Crypt for an autumnal October Acoustic Sunday, complete with lightly spiced rum punch!
